Prof. Gangaprasad (Retd. HOD, Commerce Dept., DBC & CPI Leader)

Born at Mavelikkara, in 1938, as the eldest son of Mr. P. Raghavan and Mrs. V. Thankamma. Mr. Prasad joined DB College, Sasthamcotta in 1966 as lecturer and was promoted as Professor and Head of the Dept. Of Commerce in 1972.Now he is a Director Board Member of the Kunnathoor Taluk Health Action group.

Bharat Murali (Former Student, DB College)

Murali was born on 25 May 1954 as the first child of P. Krishna Pillai and K. Devaki Amma in Kudavattoor, Kollam, Kerala, India. He completed his schooling from Kudavattoor L. P. School and Thrikannamangalam S.K.V. High School. He completed his pre-degree from Sasthamkotta Devaswom Board College.

P Sivaprasad (Noted Writer / Columnist)

P. Sivaprasad born in Mynagappally in the year 1962 (Mother: Santhakumary Amma, Father: V. Prabhakaran Pillai). He had completed 10th in MSBHS, Vengai, Sasthamcotta and his graduation in Devaswam Borad College, Sasthamcotta.

V Parameswaran Nair / V P Nair (Ex. MP, Advocate Supreme Court)

V Parameswaran Nair (VP Nair) is born in 1918 at Thiruvananthapuram. Father Sadasyathilakan T K Veluppilla, Mother Bhagavathi Amma. He had completed his education at Model School TVM, then University college, Madhura American college and TVM Law College. He was a Member of Parliament for 10yrs.

One of the important personality from Sasthamcotta. As a lyricist. "Azhakaalila manjacharadile poothaali..." from the film Aswaroodan is one of his famous song. He is a noted Writer, poet, a social worker, active member in green politics, Music director and Great Performer of Folklore songs.

P C Vishnunath (Chengannur MLA, Former DBC Student)

Son of Shri. P Chellappan Pillai and Smt LeelaC Pillai, born at Mavady, Puthoor on 30th March 1978 and bought up in Sasthamcotta. Entered Politics through KSU as Unit Secretary, Devaswom Board College, Sasthamcotta in 1993.

Prof. K. Raghavan Nair (Retired HOD Commerce, DBC / Social worker / Political Leader)

Prof. Raghavan Nair was born in the Mulavilayil family at Sasthamcotta, Kollam district on June 18, 1946 to Sri. N. Krishnan Nair and Smt. K. Kuttiyamma. His early schooling was done at Sasthamcotta Govt. School and RHS Sasthamcotta. And joined SN College, Kollam where he did his Pre Uuniversity B.com and M.com.

Born at West kallada in November 8, 1940. He was a political and trade union worker. Entered politics through the Indian National Congress, later joined P.S. P. Participated in the Vimochana Samaram was imprisoned during the Emergency. He was elected as the Kunnathur MLA in 1982 (No body else so far from UDF)

Padmasree B. Ravipillai (Former DBC Student, NRI Business man)

Born to Shri. Balakrishna Pillai and Smt.Saradamma at Chavara. A visionary par excellence, Managing Director of the Bahrain-based construction services major Naseer S.l Hajri Corporation (NSH) and Petrochem, Saudi Arabia, has added a new jewel in his crown of achievements - the prestigious "Padmashri" honour by the Government of India.

D Vinayachandran (Well-known Malayalam Poet)

D. Vinayachandran is a well-known Indian Malayalam poet. He is one of the proponents of modern style of prose in Malayalam poetry. He worked as a Malayalam professor. Now he is retired and spents most of his time for literary works. He is a Bachelor.

Thennala Balakrishnan (Ex. MP, Congress Leader)

A Social and Political Worker, Agriculturist/Farmer, Born at Sooranad,in 1931 March 11, as the son of Shri N. Gopala Pillai and Shrimati N. Eswari Amma and brought up there. He got married On on 3 July 1963, the better half is Shrimati Sathi Devi and had one daughter. He is a Congress Leader.

Sasthamcotta Balachandran (Drama Writer, Actor and Social worker)

Born at Sasthamcotta. Main social activity is playing mime dramas against drugs in schools and colleges for morethan 25 years. Acted in many Films and Tele serials. He got Netaji National Award, Bharat Jyothi Award, Best Citizen of India Award, International Gold Star Award any many.
